I focus on marketing, design, and event planning: the maps, signs, posters, brochures, and creative details that help bring an event or initiative to life.
Roni Watkins is the co-owner of My Country Story, a downtown Dover gift shop that celebrates local artisans, handcrafted goods, and the stories behind the people who create them. Through the shop, Roni has built a vibrant marketplace featuring the work of more than 50 New England makers while also creating her own line of small-batch candles, soaps, and customizable home goods. Her passion for creativity, storytelling, and community connection is reflected in everything she does, from product design to event planning and community collaboration.
In addition to her work as a small business owner, Roni has an extensive background in journalism, marketing, branding, and design. She previously worked as a reporter covering Dover and the Seacoast region, giving her a deep understanding of the people, businesses, and organizations that shape the community. Her experience also includes editorial and social media management roles, along with creative branding and design work for local businesses and organizations throughout the area.
Roni brings a creative and community-focused perspective to Communitively, where she helps develop events, placemaking initiatives, and promotional campaigns that encourage people to explore and engage with downtown Dover. Whether she is designing event signage, creating marketing materials, helping coordinate community experiences, or brainstorming the next big idea, Roni is passionate about creating projects that feel welcoming, memorable, and uniquely local.
A strong believer in the power of community connection, Roni loves finding ways to bring people together through creativity, storytelling, and shared experiences. She is committed to helping strengthen Dover’s local business community while creating experiences that add energy, fun, and a sense of belonging throughout the Seacoast.
I love being part of the team that takes an idea from a conversation around a table and turns it into something real that people can experience, enjoy, and remember.
