Reid Bickley is an experienced business development and community engagement professional with more than 25 years of experience in retail management, small business operations, and economic development. Throughout her career, she has developed a strong passion for supporting local businesses, fostering vibrant downtowns, and helping communities grow in thoughtful and sustainable ways.

Reid began her career managing a small business in downtown Newburyport, Massachusetts, eventually advancing to district manager for a regional retail chain along the Seacoast. While continuing her education in Small Business Management, she gained additional experience working within the food franchise industry and later spent a decade supporting operations for a family-owned grocery business. These experiences gave her a firsthand understanding of the opportunities and challenges small businesses face and shaped her collaborative, community-focused approach to economic development.

Today, Reid serves as an Economic Development Specialist for the City of Dover, where she works closely with local businesses, community organizations, and regional partners to support economic vitality and enhance Dover’s downtown experience. Her work includes tourism initiatives, small business outreach, marketing and promotional campaigns, stakeholder collaboration, and projects designed to improve accessibility, inclusivity, and community engagement throughout the city.

Reid has played an active role in many of Dover’s collaborative community initiatives, including tourism promotion efforts, business outreach programs, and projects that help showcase Dover as a vibrant place to live, work, and visit. Through her involvement with Communitively, she enjoys helping transform creative ideas into impactful community projects — from events and placemaking efforts to initiatives that strengthen connections between residents, visitors, and the local business community.

Passionate about collaboration and community-building, Reid believes small businesses are an essential part of what gives Dover its character and energy. She is committed to helping create opportunities that support local businesses, encourage community pride, and celebrate everything that makes Dover unique.
