Anne Nichols
Treasurer
My current area of focus is acting as the treasurer, and I am also very interested in sharing my past non-profit experience with this new board. Looking ahead, I would love to continue focusing on how we can create meaningful opportunities for our local community to thrive.
Anne Nichols is a seasoned entrepreneur, business leader, and marketing professional with more than three decades of experience building brands, leading organizations, and driving strategic growth. Throughout her career, she has combined creative vision with operational expertise to help businesses thrive, develop strong teams, and create lasting impact within their communities.
Anne is best known as the Founder and CEO of K9 Kaos, a Dover-based pet care company she launched in 2003 and grew from a startup into a multimillion-dollar business over the course of two decades. Under her leadership, the company expanded its facilities, grew to a team of more than 35 employees, and became a recognized leader in the region's pet care industry. Her entrepreneurial success earned her recognition as the U.S. Small Business Administration Women-Owned Small Business of the Year for both New Hampshire and New England in 2014. After successfully leading the company for twenty years, Anne negotiated its sale to a private equity firm in 2023.
Prior to founding K9 Kaos, Anne built an accomplished career in marketing and communications, holding leadership positions with both startup and global technology companies. She managed international marketing teams, directed multimillion-dollar communications budgets, led product launches, developed branding strategies, and helped secure funding for emerging businesses. Her experience spans industries ranging from technology and telecommunications to consumer services, giving her a broad perspective on business growth, leadership, and innovation.
Anne has also dedicated significant time to community service and nonprofit leadership. She currently serves as Treasurer of Communitively, helping support initiatives focused on economic vitality, local business promotion, and community events. Her volunteer experience also includes serving as Secretary of the Dover Business and Industrial Development Authority and nearly three decades as Vice President of Greyhound Placement Service of New Hampshire, where she helped advance animal welfare, volunteer engagement, and public education efforts.
Anne believes strong communities and successful businesses are built on relationships, collaboration, and a willingness to invest in others. Through her work with Communitively, she is excited to help create opportunities that support local businesses, foster community pride, and contribute to a vibrant and thriving Dover.
I'm thrilled to be invited to join this board so early in its journey. We have such a dynamic group of members, and I'm excited to learn from everyone. I know this board is going to accomplish great things for the community, and I'm happy to be a part of it.
